Elementary school in Alaska begins when children are 5 years of age. Grades start at kindergarten and go up to sixth grade. Classes are straight grades e.g Grade 6 , not split classes e.g 5/6. Some of the subjects they learn are: maths, science and social studies. Children in Alaska don't wear uniforms, they wear casual clothes. At the schools, assemblies are held, though most schools don't sing the national anthem. Most schools organize camps such as science camps. Like schools in Australia, elementary schools in Alaska have goals and visions.Some of the technology used in the school are text books, computers and projectors.Some schools in Alaska have bus routes and pick-up times.
